Procedures for Transport
All babies must be at least 8 weeks old and must be vaccinated. They must travel with their vaccination card and a copy of moms card to show that they are protected by moms immunity.
Crates are available to hire from FurKidzFerry, or your own crate may be used. We also provide water bowls, blankets and food bowls. All items are washed and sterilized after each use. Bedding is machine washed and tumble dried. Food and water bowls are scrubbed. Crates are cleaned with F10.
Only 1 puppy per crate unless they are litter mates and the breeder / rescue is happy for them to travel together.
Crates are never stacked on top of each other and are spaced apart to prevent pups from being too close.
Pups are checked upon pickup and if their health appears suspicious, they will not be transported.
Stops are made only in safe, designated areas every 2hrs - 2.5 hrs for a leg-stretch and potty break. Puppies remain in crates for their safety and pee pads are supplied and changed regularly.
If overnight accommodation is required, pups sleep inside with us. Collapsible puppy pens are put up for each pup, with their respective crates as a sleeping place.
We use a pheromone spray on the bedding to help keep pets calm. It is natural and safe for all animals, even rabbits. With permission from the pet owner, we can also use an anti-nausea aromatherapy to help with car sickness.
For maximum safety and comfort, FurkidzFerry limits the number of pets pet trip. Our priority is to make your pet's trip as stress-free as possible. Cat is one of those over-bearing dog moms; her dogs mean everything to her and if she transports your babies, they will be treated as her own.
